The Final Summit by Andy Andrews | BooksCrierDavid Ponder has returned. This time, he has the fate of humanity in his hands. Check out this great book review of an exciting story novel.

It is humanity’s last opportunity. Centuries of hate, greed, and pride have sent men racing toward disaster, and far from its original goal. Two words are the keys that can reset the compass and put the ship in the right direction.

Time is running out, and it is up to David Ponder and a band of history’s brightest talents to uncover this solution before it is too late. The catch? They are allowed only five tries to discover the solution.

We first encountered David Ponder in The Traveler’s Gift. Now, in The Final Summit, Andrews blends a riveting story with astounding history to show us that one thing we must do when we can’t find a solution.

Years have passed since David Ponder figured out the Seven Decisions during a divine trip through time. Now, at 74, Ponder has lost his most precious value in life: His wife, Ellen.

Despite his individual and professional achievement, he is now, at the top of his success, alone, facing the unthinkable, just as 28 years before.

However, confronted with this darkest hour, Ponder receives another divine call and, more than ever, he must take action to settle matters once more.

Among the help of numerous of his Traveler peers, from Churchill to Washington, from Carver to Joan of Arc, Ponder must struggle to discover the solution that will save mankind.

Time is running out, and the final summit of Travelers must work quickly to avoid dire outcomes.

The Final Summit examines the historically proven postulates that have always conducted our most distinguished leaders, and how we might reclaim these principles in our lives.  And do it before it’s too late.

Review

I became a fan of Andy Andrew after reading "The Heart Mender". Then I read "The Butterfly Effect" and "The Boy Who Changed the World".

However, "The Final Summit" is yet the best book I read from this author. It is surely an amazing novel that captures the reader's attention throughout out the entire work.

The storyline is simple:

David Ponder is living his dull life as a wealthy grieving widower.

He is summoned to lead a meeting that will have to produce a correct answer to a question to save humanity.

Archangel Gabriel and David organize this meeting to count with the help of five extraordinary historical figures that will reflect together towards the requested solution.

They have five attempts to come up with the correct answer. After each try on this series of tests, they learn a principle that is part of the final climatic solution to the problem.

The plot line matches well constructed narrative structure.

Andy Andrew is a marvelous storyteller and, although this particular story doesn't have that much theological basis, the teaching of moral principles and attitudes that should guide anyone's life is priceless.
